The International Conference on Sustainability Education (ICSE) is planned to explore pathways to address current and emerging sustainability challenges through education by empowering learners with new skills, values and attitudes that lead to a sustainable world.

The First International Conference on Sustainability Education (ICSE) was successfully organised on 9-10 September 2019 in New Delhi. The conference received overwhelming response from over 750 attendees across 40 countries which included sustainability educators, leaders, policy maker, teachers and practitioners from across various disciplines and professions. During the conference, delegates shared their experiences, stories and best practices on various facets of sustainability education from a broader perspective taking into consideration global issues and challenges as well as regional and national realities.

The two-day conference witnessed some 15 key note addresses in 5 plenaries, 15 thematic parallel sessions, 25 exhibitions, 45 oral and 27 poster presentations besides inaugural and concluding plenaries.

Due to COVID – 19 which brought huge disruption particularly in every educational setup, it becomes a necessity to try out several new and innovative online, virtual and distance teaching learning initiatives as new normal. In tune with that it was decided to conduct ICSE-2020 through virtual mode as a two days webinar on following topics:

The first day was attended by 500+ participants nationally and internationally. The speakers discussed about National Education Policy, Digital Divide, Sustainability Education, Girl’s Education and their linkages with each other to lead sustainable world. Second day of the webinar marked some great deliberations from eminent speakers and linked youths to present their ideas and projects depicting ground actions that will bring change to make more sustainable planet.

To keep with the momentum of ICSE-I and II, Mobius Foundation in partnership UNESCO, UNEP, Climate Reality Project India, The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI), WWF India, Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE, Copenhagen), Earth Day Network, and many more to organise 3rd edition of ICSE on 9-10 September, 2021 through State-of-the-Art virtual platform enabling attendees to have the feel and experience of the real event. The participants will get the opportunity to listen key note speeches, quality deliberations from experts, case studies, poster presentations, exhibition stalls, discussion and networking with leaders.

The year 2021 marks the launch of the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021 – 2030). The first day of the ICSE 2021 will therefore focus on the theme “Education for Ecosystem Restoration”. The deliberations of the 2nd day will be devoted to the theme of “Climate Literacy”.
